The 8th Telluride Fire Festival Was A Multi-Sensory Experience Of Epic Proportions

The gathering of flame-inspired art was bigger than ever thanks to Colorado Creative Industries and the Colorado Arts Relief Fund. The grant made it possible to attract artists with larger and more elaborate installations. One such installation was Keith D’Angelo’s intricately detailed LOVE. At 36 feet wide by 12 feet tall, it towered over all on a precipice at the end of the box canyon. Beautifully lit by Dan Gundrum, it created an extraordinary transformation when consumed by fire.

Getting Around

Free gondola: Travel from Town to Mountain Village Center Plaza and back. Location: On Gus’s Way, between Aspen and Oak Streets.
 
Free Town Shuttle Bus: Galloping Goose stops at every bus stop (if people are present) and runs a loop around town— east on Pacific St. and West on Main Street, every 15 min. The Goose also stops at the gondola station.
